OUR MISSION
The mission of the Fundisha Center Inc. is to improve the educational outcomes of Black children in the Capital district by providing community based culturally centered educational programming and Black teacher development.
The Fundisha Center Inc is focused on accomplishing the following goals 1. increase the number of Black male educators teaching in the Capital District’s and public charter schools; 2. Build the capacity of educators to provide culturally centered and responsive pedagogy; 3. Expose Black high school and college students to the teaching profession and encourage them to pursue teaching careers. 4. Improve the educational outcomes for Black students in the Capital District. 5. Provide supplemental educational services and cultural enrichment to students in the Capital District.
The principal projects of the Center are; The Teach Brother Teach! Fellowship program; Teacher2Teacher Brother2Brother Mentor program; The Liberation Literacy Academy; Baobab Tutoring Service and the Sankofa Saturday Shule & Communiversity
